DMX Splitters

Theatrelight’s DMX splitters amplify, reshape and isolate the DMX signal for reliable operation with wide voltage differences between the control panel and the dimmers, and in the noisiest environments. For maximum reliability, the units use gold plated DMX connectors.

8 way DMX rackmount splitter, RJ45 sockets input and output

RDM8 DMX Splitters

The RDM8 is a transparent in-line RDM splitter used for connecting a large number of RDM devices such as moving lights, LED Luminaires, smoke machines, dimmers etc to an RDM control panel. It may also be used as a DMX splitter in a DMX only system, or as a filter in an RDM system to prevent RDM commands affecting legacy DMX devices. It provides bi-directional transfer of data according to the RDM ENSA standard between its floating input (RDM “response” port) and its 8 isolated outputs (RDM “command” ports). The RDM8 is compatible with protocols ANSI E1.11 (DMX) and ANSI E1.20 (RDM).

  • Floating input with through connector
  • LED indicator for RDM/DMX signal input
  • 8 outputs, each isolated to 500VDC from Earth, from each other, and from the input
  • LED indicator for RDM/DMX signals on each output, active both transmitting and receiving
  • Power good LED indicator
  • All outputs use 5 volt RS485 drivers for maximum signal drive and integrity
Options:
RDM8 8 way RDM splitter with XLR connectors, 3pins or 5pins

DMX Receiver

Re-introduced by popular demand, Theatrelight’s updated DMX-512 to Analogue receiver allows you to control devices such as 10 volt dimming fluorescent ballasts or older analogue dimmers from any DMX control panel. The receiver is also useful for controlling or switching any other voltage sensitive device from a DMX signal.

  • DMX-512 input, 1/10th RS485 load
  • Optically isolated input
  • Adjustable output voltage
  • Selectable start address from 1 to 512 by thumbwheel switch
Options:
24 channel optically isolated DMX to Analogue converter

TL-ED2 Art-Net/ShowNet/sACN to DMX Receiver

The TL-ED2 Ethernet to DMX receiver converts broadcast Art-Net, ShowNet, or Streaming ACN DMX-over-Ethernet packets to two DMX 512 outputs. It can be used to drive DMX devices such as LEDs, moving lights, dimmers, smoke machines etc from a control panel or one or more DE2 Art-Net transmitters. A single Mode thumbwheel sets the ED2 to receive either Art-Net, Shownet, or sACN packets, with options of HTP merge, LTP merge, or No merge. Any two of a hundred DMX universes (51,2000 channels) can be received and output to the ED2’s two DMX output channels.

  • Portable design, suitable for wall or bar mounting
  • Ethernet connection and DMX output lines each independently isolated to 500vdc
  • Latching Neutrik XLR-RJ45 connector for secure Ethernet connection
  • High quality 5 pin Neutrik connectors for DMX output
  • CRC error checked for immediate DMX updates for maximum response speed
Options:
Art-Net/ShowNet/sACN DMX-over-Ethernet Receiver, XLR 3pins or 5pins available

TL-DE2 DMX to Artnet Transmitter

The TL-DE2 DMX to Ethernet transmitter can be used by any DMX control desk to convert its DMX output to drive a CAT5 cable network, from where distributed receivers (such as the TL-ED2) can convert the Ethernet signal back to DMX for driving local DMX devices. The DMX input data is encoded to any one of 100 DMX universes on the Ethernet cable by thumb-wheel switches. Another thumb-wheel selects HTP merge, LTP merge, or No merge, with the option of standard refresh (20ms) or fast refresh (10ms) rates.

  • Portable design, suitable for wall or bar mounting
  • Ethernet connection and DMX input lines each independently isolated to 500vdc
  • DMX inputs represent only one 1/10th standard load to a DMX transmitter
  • Latching Neutrik XLR-RJ45 connector for secure Ethernet connection
  • High quality 5 pin Neutrik connectors for DMX input
Options:
DMX to Artnet Transmitter,  XLR 3pins or 5pins available

Meteor F Fluorescent Controller

The Meteor F Fluorescent Controller converts DMX-512 signals to 12 variable DC outputs each of 0-10 volts at 100ma. These DMX controlled outputs can be used for dimming large scale fluorescent lighting installations of Osram (or similar make) 10 volt high frequency dimming ballasts, for controlling solid state relays for switching motors etc, or any other suitable device.

When used as a fluorescent lighting controller, each Meteor F PCB can typically control up to 1200 dimming ballasts (12 circuits each of 100 ballasts at 1ma per ballast) for energy efficient installations in theatre auditoriums, concert halls, museums, and other large public areas.

The Meteor F Controller is normally supplied fitted inside the Theatrelight Meteor wall mount dimmer, but it can also be supplied to specification in a standalone metal cabinet, in a 19 inch rack mount unit, or as a bare PCB for inclusion in other equipment.
